VS series air-to-open operated high-pressure valves - general information

AVS series air operated high-pressure valves can be applied for for automatic or remote control of the flow of chemically inactive, non-aggressive liquids or gases in low- and medium-duty modes.

Main features of AVS series air operated valves

  • Working media: chemically inactive, non-aggressive liquids or gases, such as: water, oil, air, nitorgen etc.
  • Maximum working pressure range for AVS series valves: 700 bar (10,000 PSI)...4,140 bar (60,000 PSI)
  • Pressure range at which it is economically feasible to use AVS series valves: 100...4,140 bar (1,500 ... 60,000 PSI)
  • Main connections available for AVS series valves:
    • 1/4": NPT / R / BSPP / MP / HP
    • 3/8": NPT / R / BSPP / MP / HP
    • 1/2": NPT / R / BSPP
    • 9/16": MP / HP
  • Operating mode: low and medium duty
  • Standard operating temperature: -50°С ... +200°С
  • Air drive line pressure: from 6 bar up to 6.8 bar

ATO (Air-To-Open) actuator features.

Air-To-Open valves AVS series

The air valve actuators are available only of single-acting spring-return type.

ATO (Air-To-Open) actuator opens the valve when the air is supplied.

Actuator closes the valve by spring return when the air is vented.

Use this type of actuator when the line must be shut off in an emergency. For example to shut off high pressure gas supplied from a gas cylinder.

Do not use this type of valve actuator in emergency release lines, as the pneumatic supply line may be depressurized in an emergency and the actuator will not be able to release pressure in high pressure line. For this task ATC (Air-To-Close) type is the best.
