Air driven pumps for hydraulic tests

Air driven hydraulic pumps were developed in the 60s of the last century specifically for solving the problems of hydraulic high and ultra-high pressure testing.

It is difficult to find a more suitable technical solution than an air pump for the tightness tests of a limited volume samples.

Hydraulic tests differ from most other tasks of high pressure liquids supply in that the main task of the pump is to maintain a constant pressure with a required accuracy at zero or close to zero flow rates.

Among electrically driven pumps, there are not and physically cannot be the same simple, elegant and at the same time effective solutions as air driven pumps.

No complex automation, bypass, cascade control systems can compare with a pump that allows you to solve the test problem in 3 simple steps: set pressure, start the pump, tested.

Every day, the issues of energy conservation, ecology, and conservation of natural resources are becoming more urgent.

Air driven pumps require no bypass system, no water heating. The pump holds the pressure in a test sample without moving the liquid.

3L series pumps have the lowest HP among the entire HII pumps line.

In the standard version, the pumps are equipped with a air drive, the hand drive is an additional modification. At the same time, the air drive cannot be "removed" from the pump design, it simply may not be used in operation.

Hand drive will allow testing of small and ultra-small volumes without overstraining the operator in the range of 0-60% of the pressure range.
For operation without overstraining in a pressure range of 0-100%, we recommend that the air drive is powered with a pressure of at least 4 bar.

However, if it is possible to work from an air drive, preference should be given to the latter, as a much more efficient, convenient, fast and accurate method of pumping and automatic pressure maintenance.

3L pumps are great for testing samples with ultra-small volumes (up to 1 liter).

They are applicable for static testing of vessels with a volume of up to 100 liters.

5L-DD pumps are best for solving most tasks where the use of air driven pumps is reasonable.

The double air drive ensures maximum pump performance in this pressure class.

The double hydraulic part ensures minimal pulsation in the high-pressure line and maximum achievable flow among air driven pumps 5L series s in this pressure class.

An excellent solution for working in the mode of maintaining constant pressure in high-pressure systems of any volume from ultra-small to ultra-large.

Pumped liquids

HII pumps in numerous standard and special modifications are applicable for pumping almost any clean liquids used for hydraulic testing.

We say "practically" because we do not know such a clean, free of impurities liquid that would be used for hydraulic tests and which the HII pump could not handle, but we are sure that there is at least one liquid in engineering practice that meets this condition.

The most popular fluids used for hydraulic testing, for which HII pumps are ideal:

Clean water, industrial water, water with petroleum products, water with corrosion inhibitors;

Distilled water, deionized water;

Industrial oils, hydraulic oils, aviation oils, mineral oils, synthetic oils;

Brake fluid, skydrol and analogs;

Hydrocarbons, gasoline, kerosene, acetone, degreasers;

Alcohols: ethyl, methyl, isopropyl and others;

Antifreeze, ethylene glycol, non-freezing liquids;

High purity liquids;

Explosive, fire-hazardous liquids;

Chemically active, aggressive liquids, acids, solvents, alkalis.

Limitations of the use of HII pumps

HII pumps are not designed for pumping contaminated liquids, liquids with mechanical, abrasive impurities;

Low-capacity pumps - limited use at high Flow range rates;

Significantly more expensive than similar solutions with an electric drive OR are not applicable for most tasks of flushing, taking flow characteristics or testing samples with a volume of more than 100 cubic meters, pre-filling products and systems of large volumes-where constant high productivity is required (more than 100 l/min);

Limited OR not applicable for pumping boiling liquids, vapors, gas phase (refrigerants, CO2, SF6, N2O, superheated steam) - it is necessary to use compressors or HII liquified gas booster;

Are not intended for high-precision dosing tasks.
